AUDITIONS/INTEREST IN THE GROUND CONTROL BALLOOM TEAM
**No Previous Experience or Partner Necessary**
Description of Team:
This is an intermediate-level formation ballroom dance team for 9th-12th grade students. Dancers will receive professional ballroom dance technique and choreography in multiple styles from Jesse Maher. Students will practice 2 hours a week and 2-4 hours a week before shows. Dancers are required to learn 2-4 dances to be performed at the studio's events and showcase in May/June.
Description of Audition:
The process will involve being taught 3 short combinations with minor technique. Dancers will then perform the combinations by themselves and with other dancers.
Dress Code:
Girls- No jeans. Wear a skirt or leggings, a fitted t-shirt (nothing too baggy), and shoes that you can move in.
Boys- No jeans, either dress pants or athletics shorts, a fitted t-shirt (nothing too baggy) , shoes you can dance in.
Rehearsals:
Mondays at Ground Control Studio from 7-9 pm.
Tuition:
$55 a month + a $150 costume fee + 1 pair of performance ballroom dance shoes ($55-$75). Dancers will also be responsible for purchasing proper undergarments and basics such as tights, socks and earrings. Dancers are required to purchase a $20 Ground Control shirt for shows and practices in the fall.
